Description : Barry has been writing and singing and recording for children and families since 1975. In addition to his author visits, concerts and workshops in schools and libraries throughout the United States and Europe, he has performed at The White House, The Smithsonian and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Barry has written songs for Sesame Street and The Weekly Reader and is the star of an Emmy Award-winning television show for children. His songs are also featured on The Learning Channel Barry has written for Instructor Magazine and has worked with literacy groups, Chapter I programs and the American Library Association. He is a four time Parents` Choice Award winner and a winner of the Maryland Library Association`s Special Recognition Award for his "ability to communicate with and excite children to read."
