Description : Cliff McGann, being half Irish and half Scottish, comes by his interest in traditional music and storytelling naturally. He learned his storytelling credo from his grandfather whose motto was "Never let truth stand in the way of a good story."
Though born and raised near Boston, Cliff McGann spent summers on his grandparents dairy farm in rural Nova Scotia. He shares humorous and participatory stories and songs about life on the farm as well as tales of peace, environmentalism etc. The humorous and participatory songs about Frogs, Foxes, Cows and other animals are well suited to audiences of all ages.
He plays several instruments including guitar and Irish bouzouki as well as the irish tin whistle. He also owns one of only two known storytelling vehicles in the world today. Though it hibernates during winter "Seaflower" accompanies him on all his storytelling adventures during the Spring, Summer and Fall.
McGann recently completed his Masters Degree in Folklore at Memorial University of Newfoundland with a focus on traditional music and storytelling.
